J.K. Rowling’s world of wizardry is coming back to the big screen – without Harry Potter.
Studio Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the new movie, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” starring Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, on Tuesday.
The film is inspired by the textbook of the same name which Harry and his friends studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The movie, which focuses on the book’s fictitious author, Newt Scamander (Redmayne), is set in New York 70 years before the start of Potter’s tale.
In a statement earlier this year, Rowling, who wrote the screenplay, said the film “is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world.”
The trailer shows Newt – who has traveled the world documenting an extraordinary array of magical creatures – losing some of the “fantastic beasts” of the title while visiting Manhattan.
