MONCTON – The spokesman for All Access Taxi in Moncton is worried about his clients’ well-being after someone smashed his van’s window.
“People don’t want to have any responsibility for their actions,” said Robin Henry. “Being able to keep the vehicle warm and safe from the elements is a big issue especially when they’re already compromised to begin with.”
That’s because his van is designed for special needs clients. It’s wheelchair accessible and caters to many clients who need dialysis treatment.
One of them is Donald MacKay.
“I didn’t think that was right the way they busted his glass when he drives people back and forth to the hospital,” he said.

Henry said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning along Mill Street.
He said five people wanted a ride in the van. But when they were told there was only enough room for four people they got aggressive with the driver.
The RCMP confirmed they responded to a call around 2 a.m. But no arrests were made and the case is still under investigation.
Greg Estabrooks speaks for Moncton’s Taxi Committee and said he hasn’t heard of an increase of attacks against drivers and their vehicles.
But he’s urging drivers not to take any chances.
“If something doesn’t feel right then drive away call the dispatcher,” he said. “Tell him why you drove away because you didn’t feel comfortable with that situation.”
