The new headquarters has been plagued by cost overruns, delays and scandals but the former Canada Post building at 245 Smith Street is close to being handed over to its new owners.

It was announced in September that the Winnipeg Police Service will take possession of the building on Dec 15 but won’t start moving in until Dec 21 on a staggered basis.

The headquarters has been delayed for more than a year and is $75 million over budget.
