“It’s terrific to sing all the melodies from the different countries,” choir member Nell Smith, born in the Netherlands, said.
Singer Mary Valentich, who’s of Croatian heritage, said “especially this year, with so many troubles in the world, it’s wonderful to have music to bring us together.”
The choir presents its “Welcome Christmas!” concert on Saturday Dec. 12 at River Park Church in southwest Calgary.
“At the end of the day, it’s all about Christmas,” Kathleen Payne-Massiah, originally from the Caribbean island of Antigua, said. “At the end of the day, we’re all the same.”
