It’s a letter to Santa Claus any child could’ve written: asking Jolly Old St. Nick for a few video games, a Bayblade and even some Barbie dolls for his sister. But it was when the unknown boy asked Santa for his “mom back alive” and “some more food” that made his letter stand out.
A second-grader’s hand-written note to Santa has brought the Salisbury community in South Carolina together, hoping to fulfill some of the wishes of the anonymous boy.
In the letter, the unknown child writes to Santa for a “favor,” reading in part:
“…if you cud [sic] bring my mom back alive for Christmas. Plees [sic] Santa plees [sic].”
Another part of the letter reads:
“And some more food and 100 paks [sic] of sodo [sic].”
Christian Wilson, a woman who came across the young child’s letter and asked residents for help, said she’s beyond grateful by the response she’s gotten.

“I’m humbled. I never imagined that this outpour from the community would happen,” Wilson told WBTV News.
It’s not known how Wilson came across the boy’s note to Santa, but WBTV has reported Wilson reached out to the second-grader’s teacher in order to pass on some of the donations she’s received on the boy’s behalf to his family.
“It just broke my heart, I couldn’t imagine a child… asking Santa for food,” Wilson said.
And it’s all thanks to one boy’s honest letter to the man in red himself.
