TORONTO – It seems infidelity is alive in well in Toronto as a recent study of AshleyMadison.com’s membership has shown the most popular neighbourhoods for cheaters among its thousands of members.
AshleyMadison.com, a website that caters to married men and women looking for romance outside of their current relationship, has determined that residents of affluent neighbourhoods tend to cheat more than others.
The Beaches, the “study” found, contained the most cheaters in Toronto per capita. It also found that members of AshleyMadison.com from the Beaches also had, on average, the most children.
The Beaches was followed closely by other affluent areas, including Forest Hill, High Park, and Rosedale. Etobicoke had the fewest number of affairs.
“Toronto is a city where who you are is strongly related to where you live. Each neighbourhood has a personality and the people who live there tend to identify strongly with that,” says Noel Biderman, founder and CEO, AshleyMadison.com. “The question everyone is asking is ‘does the community impact the people within it, or are certain personality types drawn to those areas?’”
According to the site, High Park has the most women under 35 who are members of the site and Scarborough residents report the most “encounters” with other members.
Scarborough, and Etobicoke though considered ‘cities’ by many, were included as neighbourhoods by AshleyMadison.com
