TORONTO – Toronto police have released security images of suspects wanted in connection to a string of distraction thefts targeting seniors in the city’s east-end.
Police said four separate incidents have been reported between Nov. 18 and Dec. 2 on Victoria Park Avenue between Ellesmere Road and Eglinton Avenue East.
In each case, it is alleged the suspects watched people as they used their debit card at an ATM.
When the victims got into their cars, a suspect would knock on the rear window indicating there is something under the car.
When the victim gets out to see, another suspect would enter the vehicle and steal their wallets and debit/credit cards.
It is alleged the suspect then used the cards to withdrawal money.
Police believe there may be more victims and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
