Man hit with bat, struck by car in Scarborough

TORONTO –  A violent assault near the Scarborough Convention Centre Sunday put one man in hospital with serious injuries.

Police said a man was struck with a blunt object, possibly a baseball bat or cricket bat, then hit by a car at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Finchdene Square near Neilson Road and Finch Avenue.

Police have not released any suspect descriptions at this time, although they said a burgundy SUV was seen leaving the area.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
