WINNIPEG — It was a sea of red and white at The Forks for this year’s Salvation Army Santa Shuffle.
Around 400 people took part in the 5 km run and 1 km walk that raises money for programs that provide food, clothing and shelter for Manitobans in need.
“I think that it’s important especially during the holidays to make sure that we think about everybody and help give back to people that don’t have the same means to enjoy the holidays,” said race participant Chantal Givens.
The Santa Shuffle began 25 years ago and now takes place every year in over 33 cities across the country.
It started here in Winnipeg ten years ago and over the past four years it has raised over $61,000.
