Police in Pennsylvania have released dash-cam footage of an officer coming within inches of losing his life after a man he was trying to arrest took out a gun and shot at him three times during a traffic stop.
The incident occurred on Nov. 22, and police are releasing the information now in an effort to track down the suspect who they’ve identified as 24-year-old Trev Bowies Jackson.

Jackson was stopped on suspicion of impaired driving and officer Lynn Anderson said he smelled marijuana from inside the car, according to a FOX43 report.
Moments before the shooting, Jackson tossed his license on the ground in what appears to have been a distraction tactic.
Anderson was not injured in the shooting, but police believe Jackson was wounded in the left hand or arm during the incident and they found blood in his recovered 1994 Buick sedan.
“This was a very, very close, dangerous encounter for the officer,” Northern York County Regional Police Chief Mark Bentzel said.
