Jackson was stopped on suspicion of impaired driving and officer Lynn Anderson said he smelled marijuana from inside the car, according to a FOX43 report.

Moments before the shooting, Jackson tossed his license on the ground in what appears to have been a distraction tactic.

Anderson was not injured in the shooting, but police believe Jackson was wounded in the left hand or arm during the incident and they found blood in his recovered 1994 Buick sedan.
