‘Shallow Hal’ actor Joshua Shintani dies at age 32

Joshua Shintani, best-known for his small role in Shallow Hal, has died at the age of 32 from pneumonia, reports TMZ.

Shintani, nicknamed “Li’iBoy,” fell ill early last week and was taken by his mother to a hospital in Kauai.

Doctors said he had a particularly aggressive case of pneumonia, and the actor succumbed to the illness on Wednesday of last week.

Shintani became a local legend in his native Hawaii after appearing in Shallow Hal with Jack Black. His major scene, where he strummed a ukulele and played “Never Forget Where I’m From,” propelled him to local popularity.

Shallow Hal was his only movie appearance.
