Neither driver involved in the crash faced criminal charges, according to Speed Skating Canada, but initially Morrison received a $155 fine for entering an intersection during a yellow light.
Morrison’s lawyer, Jonathan Dennis, said there was a charge related to the traffic ticket for allegedly running a yellow light. Friday, the Crown decided to withdraw the charges, completely clearing Morrison’s name.
“This has had a profound effect on [Morrison]. It was a very serious accident, he’s sustained some quite serious injuries but the biggest thing that he’s focused on is going and being part of the speed skating team for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games,” Dennis said.
Morrison is relieved and happy to put it behind him.
“It’s a bit of a weight on the shoulders for a longtime now. I’ve been training through the injuries and rehabbing myself anyways to try and get back to training, but it’s just nice to now that ticket is cleared away now and I can focus my energy entirely on the rehab and not have this in the back of my mind anymore,” said Morrison.
Charges fully withdrawn in court today based on multiple witness statements. Nice to have facts pull through finally.

Police said his southbound motorcycle collided with a northbound Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn in the intersection Charleswood Drive and Crowchild Trail N.W. at 6:45 p.m. on May 7.
The impact of the collision caused the Corolla to roll onto its side, causing minor injuries to its two occupants. Morrison was rushed to the Foothills Medical Centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The 29-year-old native of Fort St. John, B.C., suffered a fractured femur, internal bruising, a slight spinal fracture, a torn ligament in his knee and a concussion in the May 7 crash.

Police laid a charge after the accident but the crown has the right to review it, which lead to it being withdrawn.
“There’s nothing to even celebrate yet. My celebration will happen when I qualify for the Olympics in 2018,” said Morrison.
Morrison has won one Olympic medal, two silver and one bronze.
