WINNIPEG — A massive fire sent smoke and flames shooting from a large building in Winnipeg’s North End Tuesday afternoon.
The fire started around 1 p.m. in a Manitoba housing complex near Dufferin Avenue and McGregor Street.
Three people went to hospital with minor injuries but they aren’t considered life threatening according to John Lane, district fire chief with the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service.
There’s no word on how the fire started but it doesn’t appear to be suspicious. No damage estimates were available but the building appears to be extensively damaged, the roof of the entire complex looks completely destroyed.
