MONTREAL – The city’s Inspector-General Denis Gallant is calling for a clean-up of the city’s snow removal system.
This comes after a report by the Auditor-General found evidence of corruption in the industry.

The report looks at the period between 2005 and 2015.
Many contractors claimed there are areas in the city where they can’t bid on contracts because they’re “owned” by a competitor.

The investigation also discovered some contractors called each other to discuss tenders before submitting their bids.

There is evidence of contractors being threatened with physical violence to keep them from bidding on certain contracts.
