A man who spent more than two decades behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit, is working to ensure no one else is wrongly convicted.
David Milgaard was 17 when he was convicted of murdering a nursing aide in Saskatoon. DNA evidence cleared him of any wrongdoing years later.

On Tuesday, he met with justice studies students at Mount Royal University, and called for the creation of an independent board of review.
Milgaard said the board, made up of randomly selected people, would ensure a fair hearing, adding it would let them “be allowed to review these cases of wrongful conviction.”
Ron Dalton, another canadian wrongly convicted, also spoke at the MRU presentation.
