VERDUN – A small fire broke out Thursday morning at an apartment on 4th Avenue, near Verdun Street.
It happened just before 2 a.m.
The occupant, who lived on the ground floor, climbed out of his window to safety.

He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters said the blaze was likely due to smoking.
