MONTREAL – The Montreal police arson squad is investigating after a fire at a bar on Jean Talon Street in the Villeray district.
Police were called to the Empire Café around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday.
“From the first information that we have, it seems like an incendiary object was thrown inside the establishment,” said Manuel Couture with Montreal police.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.

The damage is minor and there were no reported injuries.
