It’s alleged Michael Peter David tried to sell the stolen cable to a local scrap dealer.

However, the scrap dealer had been alerted to possible thefts by the website ScrapTheftAlert.com, and called police to let them know

Police found 145 lbs. of cable, which had been burned to remove the exterior casing.

David is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and fraud under $5,000.
