REGINA – Regina’s new stadium is now 60 per cent complete according to the City of Regina and PCL Construction.
City officials and PCL Construction provided an update to the media on Monday focusing on the roof, lighting and seating for the new stadium.
“These key features show just how different our new stadium will be compared to the current facility,” said Mayor Michael Fougere. “It’s exciting to see the progress that has been made by PCL and the City team since ground was broken over 500 days ago.”
“A spectator roof and improved lighting and seating are essential features of our new stadium,” said Brent Sjoberg, Deputy City Manager & COO, executive lead for the Regina Revitalization Initiative.

A Syracuse, New York company will be installing around 400 LED fixtures with wireless control which will illuminate the new stadium and will provide an improved experience for athletes and performers with an industry leading glare control system. This will be the first stadium in the CFL with LED lighting.
A company out of Dallas, Texas will begin installation of 130,800 square feet of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fabric roofing in the spring of 2016. The material is translucent which will allow maximum daylight and also provide shading.
Also in spring of 2016 a Grand Rapids, Michigan company will be installing green Solara seats. Each seat will be rail-mounted with an armrest and a drink holder. General admission seats will be 20 inches wide and the average distance between rows is 33 inches.
The new stadium currently has 500 workers on site and the first CFL game is expected to be played in the summer of 2017.
