Halloween is one night which goes against everything dentists work so hard all year to avoid: all that candy taking its toll on teeth. However, Lethbridge’s able dental is being proactive — while supporting our troops.
“It’s great for kids’ oral health, and the troops win because they get the Christmas packages at the end of the year,” said Able Dental’s Sabelo Makelimn. “The kids actually have the opportunity to do some cards, they can do up cards for the troops, which will be included in the package.”

For the last seven years the organization has been paying the public for its Halloween candy, one dollar for every pound, and this year they are already up to over 1,300 pounds and counting. That candy is sent overseas to Canadian troops serving around the world.
On top of that, to encourage students to contribute, Able Dental is having a draw on Monday to announce that a class will receive free tickets to a movie.
