There was a near-record gusher in Saskatchewan’s oilpatch last year.
Government figures show producers pumped nearly 158 million barrels in 2011 — up about three and a half million from the previous year and the second-highest output to date.

Energy Minister Bill Boyd says last year’s numbers are remarkable because many areas of the oilpatch were deluged by spring flooding.
