Mounties say the fire was reported to be at the rear of the school. School officials say it was likely caused by an electrical fault. The building is heavily damaged but a financial cost isn’t yet known.

There are no reports of injuries.

Meantime, band officials are trying to find a place nearby where the 260 students, from nursery to grade 3, can resume classes. Officials are aiming for next Monday to get the kids back to class.
