Montrealers get zombified for Halloween

MONTREAL – If you were anywhere near Place des Arts Saturday afternoon, you may have thought that the zombie apocalypse was upon us.

Thousands of  zombies, each one gorier than the next, took part in the fifth annual Montreal Zombie Walk.

Starting at 1:00 p.m., zombies were invited to the Place des Festivals, where they could show off their skills on giant board games or take dance lessons to be that much better at strutting their stuff.

The ghoulish walk around the neighbourhood kicked off at 4:00 p.m., and was scheduled to finish at 5:15 p.m.

The francophone rock ‘n’ roll band Les Breastfeeders are kicking-off the after-party with a free concert, to be followed by an out-door screening of Turbo Kid.

The festivities should end at 9:00 p.m. giving revelers plenty of time for other fiendish pursuits.
