Winnipeg police investigate three separate stabbings

WINNIPEG — It was a busy Thursday evening and early Friday morning for police, as they were called on scene to three separate stabbings.

The first happened on Simcoe Street near St. Matthews Avenue. Officers were called on scene around 7:30 pm, Thursday for reports of a stabbing.

Police said one man was taken to hospital in critical condition, but he’s since been upgraded to serious condition. One man was arrested in connection to the stabbing.

The second stabbing took place downtown just after 10 p.m. Thursday, near Edmonton Street and Qu’Appelle Avenue.

Police said a man approached them with a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Then just after 4 a.m. Friday, officers responded to reports of another stabbing on the 200 block of Young Street.

Police said the incident involved two brothers. One man was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable. Another man remains in custody.
