Striking teachers react to news of Bombardier bailout

As public sector workers arrived at protests Thursday morning they were greeted by the news that the Quebec government is investing $1.3 billion into Bombardier.

“Bombardier is a needed thing for Quebec but I think education also is very important. Maybe share a little bit, it would be nice,” said teacher Kathleen Gardner.

Primary school student talks education cuts with MNA

Adamo Hartley, an 11-year-old student frustrated by teacher pressure tactics in the face of budget cuts took his case straight to his MNA.

When he left the meeting he admitted the situation was “more complicated” than he originally thought, adding that the two sides need to compromise.

New MUHC policy will ban smoking on hospital grounds

Lighting up a cigarette on hospital grounds will soon be a thing of the past. Starting Nov. 1, smoking and vaping will be banned on the MUHC Glen site.

“Smoke and vape-free at the MUHC is not gonna be easy,” said Dr.Charles Sounan, Chair of the MUHC Wellness Committee. “This is going to be difficult, it’s going to be tough, but we will succeed.”

They might be fearless on the ice but Brendan Gallagher and Nathan Beaulieu were easy targets for creepy clowns.
