Laval police arrest 2 in ATM attempted robbery

LAVAL – Two men, aged 41 and 56, were caught red-handed trying to steal a wall-mounted ATM machine in Laval on Tuesday evening.

It is the third ATM theft in as many days.

The attempted robbery happened at a National Bank on Saint-Martin Boulevard in Laval.

Police were alerted after a security alarm was set off at 7:45 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they caught both suspects in the act of stealing from the ATM.

In their possession, police found industrial tools which were used to commit the theft.

The suspects were arrested on site and detained for questioning.

Investigators are now trying to determine if all three ATM robberies in the Montreal area this week are linked.
