WATCH: Hairless cat ‘helps’ Global weather anchor give forecast

EDMONTON – Global Edmonton weather specialist Mike Sobel is no stranger to animals stealing the spotlight during his forecasts. He often includes animals brought in for the Edmonton Humane Society segment in his weather report.

On Tuesday, one feline friend really dug in to the forecast. Meet Hank. Yes, Hank the hairless cat.

The fleshy feline seemed to alter between resting contently in Sobel’s arms and scrambling around his neck.

“Oh oh, he’s starting to climb,” said Sobel.

Hank is one of many cats that will be featured in this year’s Meow Mania taking place Saturday at the Edmonton Italian Cultural Centre. You can hear more about the event on Thursday’s edition of the Global Edmonton Morning News.
