WINNIPEG – If you’re looking to avoid getting sick this year, free flu shots are available starting Wednesday.
The province said the vaccines help fight four strains of influenza, which is one more than last year’s shot.
Twelve public clinics are offering the free shots until October 24 to Manitobans over 6 months old.
You can get them from your doctor, at a walk-in or Quick Care clinic. Pharmacists also offer immunization services to people over 7 years old.
Manitoba Heath said the shot is especially important for those with increased risk of serious illness from the flu or their caregivers.
