VERNON – The Crown has collapsed its case against a north Okanagan man charged in connection with a highway crash that killed three people.

A passenger in the truck, 19-year-old Eric David Robertson of Armstrong, died at the scene.

The car driver, 70 year old Allan Arthur Allport, also died at the scene.

His wife, Fay Allport, 67, died later in hospital.

McGregor was charged with dangerous driving causing death but just before his trial was to begin the prosecutor stayed the charge.

Crown spokesperson, Neil MacKenzie, says they received new evidence and determined they wouldn’t be able to proved criminal conduct by McGregor.
