Tony Clement reclaims Parry Sound-Muskoka riding for Conservatives

Conservative MP Tony Clement has won back Parry Sound-Muskoka for the Conservatives, beating out Liberal candidate Trisha Cowie in a close race.

The Conservatives took the seat with 43.3 per cent of the vote while the Liberals came second with 38.9 per cent.

Clement has represented this riding since 2006 and has won his fourth term in the riding by just 4.4 percentage points.

Clement won the riding in 2011 with 55.7 per cent of the vote, followed by NDP Wendy Wilson with 24.2 per cent.

The riding encompasses includes Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Georgian Bay and its boundaries have not changed for this election.

This riding was created in 1949 and Liberal Andy Mitchell won in 1993. He kept the seat until his defeat by Clement in 2006.
