Edmonton police don’t think laser pointers are funny, especially when pointed at their chopper

EDMONTON – Two people are in custody after Edmonton police said someone pointed a laser at their helicopter early Monday.

The device was flashed at the chopper around 1:30 a.m., causing a possible hazard to the pilots, according to police.

Police said officers managed to pinpoint a location where they found a man and a woman in their 20s and a laser pointer left on a nearby bench.

The two are being questioned, and police said they could be facing serious charges.
