WINNIPEG – It’s finally time for the weekend! Here is Global Winnipeg’s top five list of events and activities to try.
International Wine Festival of Manitoba
Wines from around the world are available at The Forks from Friday until Sunday. Admission is free and tickets for sampling each wine only cost 50 cents.
There will also be more than 750 selections of cheese plates to go with the drinks. Enjoy!
Gaze at the Stars
If you’re in the mood for a social Friday night, head to the Park Theatre for the Creative Communications Media Awards.
The fundraising event celebrates student accomplishments and is open to anyone who buys a ticket. As usual, there will be a fantastic set of prizes on the line.
Fright at the Fort
Inmates are on the loose and ready to scare you at The Lower Fort Garry penitentiary this weekend!
The event is for anyone 14+, so bring your ID and enter the grounds at your own risk.
The Bros Landreth
If you feel like some good live music Saturday night, head to Burton Cummings Theatre to hear the The Bros. Landreth.
The band from Winnipeg is currently playing across North America on their Runaway Train Tour.
Hike the Dyke
Admire beautiful fall colours at Oak Hammock Marsh while exploring over 30 kilometers of trails.
You can tag along with an interpreter for a guided hike through rough terrains and other obstacles.
