UPDATE: Driver airlifted to hospital after serious crash near Birds Hill

WINNIPEG — Just after 7 a.m. on Thursday, RCMP were called on scene to a two vehicle collision near Garven Road, five kilometers west of Highway 12 .

When crews arrived on scene, two vehicles had extensive damage and one was in the ditch.

RCMP said one driver was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance. The driver’s injuries are unknown.

Emergency crews shut down part of the area  for most of the morning, but as of 11 a.m. the scene has been cleared.
