Caught on camera: Arsonist sets Halloween costumes in Walmart on fire

A 40-year-old San Leandro, CA man has been arrested after setting Halloween costumes in a local Walmart on fire Tuesday afternoon.

Employees at the retail store told KPIX News they began following the unidentified suspect after noticing he was acting suspicious.

According to police, workers saw the man pour lighter fluid on items all over the store before setting Halloween costumes on fire.

“This is a case of arsonist, the entire incident is captured on the store video,” a police spokesman said to KPIX. “Security officers inside the store saw a suspicious man…who came into the store pushing a shopping cart. And once he was inside, they saw some sort of a container in the shopping cart that was leaking liquid.”
