Man wounded in west Edmonton shooting

EDMONTON – A man was rushed to hospital early Friday morning after being shot in Edmonton’s west end.

Shortly after midnight, police went to a convenience store near 95 Avenue and 172 Street after getting a call about an injured man inside the store.

The man was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound before he was taken to hospital.

It’s believed the victim was walking north of the convenience store when a vehicle slowed down and someone inside shot the man.

The early parts of the investigation indicate the suspect and victim know each other, according to police.

Investigators are trying to figure out the type of relationship as well as several other factors surrounding the shooting.
