One person was found dead Wednesday after a home burned to the ground overnight on a northern Alberta First Nation.
Elk Point RCMP and fire crews weren’t alerted until about 9 a.m. Wednesday, which led them to the single-family home in Frog Lake First Nation.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office has scheduled an autopsy for Thursday morning; RCMP did not know the identity of the victim.
Investigators remained on scene as of 4 p.m. Wednesday to try to determine the cause of the fire.
Frog Lake, Alta. is about 250 km east of Edmonton.
