The victim was having trouble breathing and was taken to hospital Sunday night, after firefighters cut the bin open to pull her out.
Police say the woman had apparently been leaning into the bin through its small raised opening when she fell inside and became stuck, upside down.
It wasn’t known how long she was suspended in that position before help arrived.
Her name has not been released.
