Calgary musicians hit YouTube with catchy Blue Jays tribute

CALGARY – They’re big baseball fans who just happen to be musicians, and now they’re using their talents to support “Canada’s Team.”

Calgary musician Aaron Pollock has teamed up with local band, Swift Olliver, to record the song “92” and posted it online Wednesday.

Based on the Taylor Swift hit 22, 92 invokes the spirit of the Blue Jays’ glory days, when the team won back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993.

The tune sings the praises of the Jays’ stars of 2015, wishing them well as they head toward post-season play.

“We hope that Taylor sees it, we hope that the Blue Jays organization sees it,” said Pollock’s manager, Stephane Labine. “One of my personal hopes is that during a playoff game, it’s like an anthem, with the crowd singing our track.”

Swift Oliver’s Kayle Luft hopes exposure like that might help take their music to a bigger audience, what he calls “the MLB of music.”
