During a visit to The Dan Patrick Show Thursday, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred gave his picks for the two teams he’d most like to see match up in this year’s World Series.

“Cubs and Toronto would be nice to have,” Manfred said. “Canada’s really important to us. I think if you had the Cubs and the Blue Jays, you’d probably have two countries pretty fully engaged. It’d be good for us.”

Manfred gave his choice picks after host Dan Patrick asked if the prospect of a Yankees and Cubs matchup was what he was hoping for.

After sitting a game under .500 on July 28, the Blue Jays have been arguably the hottest team in baseball, winning 37 of 51 games.

On Friday night, the Jays have a shot at clinching their first playoff spot since 1993, a year they went on to win the World Series. If the MLB Commissioner gets his wish, the Jays might just make it back.
