Cool and wet weather slowed down harvest operations in Saskatchewan over the past week. According to the weekly crop report, 60 per cent of the crop is combined and 28 per cent swathed or ready to straight-cut.
Last week, 52 per cent was combined and 30 per cent swathed or ready to straight-cut. The five-year average for this time of year is 56 per cent and 27 per cent respectively.
Overall yields are reported to be average, but vary between regions.

Producers in the southwest are furthest along, with 81 per cent of the crop combined, while approximately one-third is combined in the northern grainbelt, where some areas received nearly two inches of rain.
Crop damage in the past week was mainly caused by rain, wind and flooding.
Frost was also a factor in some areas, although officials said there was minimal damage in most cases as crops were mature. Bleaching and sprouting continue to be a concern in some areas.
