Calgary senior assaulted inside her Bowness home

Calgary police are investigating a disturbing nighttime attack in the city’s northwest, Thursday night.

A man broke into a home along Bowness road, entering through the basement window just after 11 p.m.

The 86-year-old resident woke up when she heard the noise, and was assaulted when she went to investigate what it was.

The suspect went through the woman’s belongings then left the home through the back door.

It was at that point that the terrified senior called 911.

She was rushed to hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Police describe the suspects as Caucasian, 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, with a slim build and dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket with red trim and black jeans.

It is not known at this time if anything was stolen from the home.
