SAINT JOHN – Dennis Oland is back in New Brunswick court Monday, on charges of second degree murder in the death of his father, Richard Oland in July of 2011.
The court will hear from witness Preston Chaisson, the second person to discover Richard Oland’s body in his Saint John office.
Last week the trial heard from long-time assistant Maureen Adamson who was the first to discover Richard dead in the office, then ran and found Chaisson.
WATCH: Security camera footage allegedly shows Dennis Oland at a local market a short time after the murder took place.
Chaisson started the morning with graphic testimony of what he saw when he entered the office, saying he, “saw Richard on the floor slaughtered,” after Adamson approached him looking panicked.
Chaisson, who had first aid training, said it was apparent right away that there was nothing that could be done to save Richard, so he called police.
The court will also see a series of photographs of the crime scene as part the evidence being presented today.
