SASKATOON – Quarterback Drew Burko threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns as the Saskatchewan Huskies picked up their first win of the CIS football season, beating the Regina Rams 33-18 on Friday. Burko tossed two of his TD passes to receiver Mitch Hillis, who finished with nine catches for 135 yards.
Burko also connected in the end zone with receiver Yol Piok.
Tyler Chow ran the ball 15 times for a 124 yards for the Huskies (1-2) while Shane Buchanan picked up 87 yards on the ground, including a TD.

Kicker Sean Stenger supplied the rest of Saskatchewan’s points with a field goal and four converts.

Noah Picton went 28-of-43 for 422 yards with one TD and one interception for the Rams (0-3). Atlee Simon rushed for a TD and Andrew Fabian booted a field goal.
Simon gave Regina an early lead with a two-yard scamper at 6:24 of the first quarter. Saskatchewan, however, responded with 19 straight points and took a 19-10 lead into halftime.
Stenger put the Huskies on the board with a 21-yard FG and a Regina safety made it 7-5 early in the second.
Burko hit Hillis for a 15-yard TD, then spotted Piok for a 13-yard score. Fabian kicked a 20-yard FG in the final minute to keep the Rams in the contest.
Buchanan ran a three-yard plunge to open the third quarter and Burko connected from seven yards out with Hillis in the fourth to make it 33-10 Saskatchewan.
Noah Picton hit Mitchell Picton with a 37-yard TD and the two-point convert, bringing the score to 33-18 with 4:05 remaining.
