Police in Summerland, B.C. are looking for people responsible for a newspaper box explosion that happened overnight.
At 12:23 a.m., Mounties received reports of a possible gun shot in the downtown area of Summerland.

It later turned out a home-made “pipe bomb” was involved. It was placed in a plastic newspaper receptacle near the post office and detonated, sending debris flying over 300 feet.
Two people were seen running from the area. One of them was wearing a white sweater.
Anyone who may have seen the suspects or has any information about the incident is asked to call the Summerland RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
