Jennifer Herth has been sentenced to five years in jail for stealing a dying man’s wallet on April 14.

Barry Wood, 58, collapsed and suffered a heart attack in his home while he was getting ready for work. His wife, Carol, called 911 and ran downstairs to open the front door for paramedics to enter.

Carol saw Herth and asked for her help while waiting for emergency officials.

Instead of helping, Herth stole Wood’s wallet.

“She took his wallet and left.”

After the theft, Herth went back to the Wood’s residence twice, trying to make up an excuse to enter back into the home. Carol called police the second time, where Herth was arrested.

“She got punished. I think the punishment was certainly warranted. And she can sit in jail, that’s fine with me,” Carol said to WLWT.
