Revelstoke — Visitors heading to Revelstoke Mountain Resort will soon be getting the thrill of speed even when there is no snow.
A single-track coaster is in the works, giving riders the chance to speed through ski runs and a tunnel while travelling up to 42 km/hr.
The 1.4 km track has an elevation of 279 metres and features a monorail that is close to the ground.

Unlike most roller coasters, guests get to control their own speed on this version.
This will be North America’s first Brandauer Mountain Coaster and the president of the coaster company believes it will be a success. “The terrain of the lower mountain will perfectly complement our technology and create an amazing ride,” says Josef Brandauer.
Peter Nielsen, Vice President of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, is looking forward to giving Revelstoke guests another summer option. “Revelstoke is a beautiful place in the summer and we jumped at the opportunity to bring in this unique attraction for visitors to the region,” says Nielsen.
Construction of the coaster will finish in Spring 2016, and the coaster’s inaugural ride for the public is expected in the summer season.
