Man killed in Big River, Sask. workplace accident

A man has been killed following a workplace accident at a lumber mill near Big River, Sask. File / Global News

A Saskatchewan workplace accident has claimed the life of a man. The accident happened Tuesday evening at a lumber mill south of Big River.

Mounties were called to the mill around 8:45 p.m. for a report of a workplace injury. A 31-year-old man was injured while carrying out maintenance on equipment.

He died from his injuries prior to first responders arriving at the scene.

His name has not been released.
