CALGARY – Seven kittens were rescued from a house fire in the community of Marlborough Park on Sunday.
Firefighters were called to a blaze along Maddock Drive N.E. at around 10 p.m.

Investigators believe the fire originated in a basement apartment. The residents who normally occupy the unit, a mother and her child, weren’t there at the time.
Residents living on the main floor of the home were able to get out safely.
Firefighters attending the blaze pulled a litter of seven kittens from the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
