WINNIPEG — Strong winds and torrential rainfall hit Winnipeg Friday afternoon as it was under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Environment Canada warned that dime to nickel size hail could also be on the way for many parts of Manitoba, including the city of Winnipeg.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect over many areas Friday afternoon and Environment Canada warned the storms could drop up to 50 mm in some areas and result in wind gusts of up to 90 km/h.
The storm left behind lots of damage and flooding.

Winnipeg police took to Twitter to warn drivers and give some helpful advice.
