Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Bob Jones says the man was carrying a variety of prescription medicines and had told other travelers that he was not feeling well, earlier in the trip.
Police are treating the case as a suspicious death, at least until autopsy results are received.
But Jones says no signs of trauma have been found on the victim’s body.
The man’s name won’t be released while officers try to contact relatives, but Jones confirms the victim was not a resident of Kamloops.
Calgary Police are not yet involved in the investigation.
